- maitreyaishere: One of the weirdest things about this change is that the opposite word is given. Let is opposed to Restraint.
- Maria Fusco: Phillips NT uses restraining power twice. The Amplified Bible uses, he who restrains.

- Bible Bear: Hey Robby, here is what I think is happening, (because its happened to me too). I used to always read the NKJV in my early days of Bible reading because I couldn’t handle the heavy Old English slang of the KJV. Then when I was knowledgable in the Word enough to tackle the KJV I found myself doing exactly what you just did!!! Saying, “hey didn’t this say that”, and then realizing it was just a translation difference.
Now if you’ve only been using the KJV your whole walk then it may just be because we’ve sat through so many teachings about the Restrainer where other teachers use that term (or they’ve also used the NKJV) then we’ve gotten accustomed to “he that letteth” being the Restrainer just because we associated the terms together so much.
Thanks for the call out! 😊 All glory to Christ Jesus! 👑
Love ya brother, and Happy New Year!! 🎺
